Quintero Movies
Bio
His first script "Populous" made the quarter finals of the Scriptapalooza Contest and the 2nd round of the Austin Film Festival Contest. It was placed as one of the top 100 of the Emerging Screenwriters Contest which was inspirational for him to write the comedy "The Mover" which also did well in the Act-one Script Contest as a quarter finalist and semi-finalist in the Screenplay Festival Contest.
He is presently working on a third script, which is a comedy that takes place during the Revolutionary War with two goofball commandos from the future. All three scripts are suited for TV, web-based or feature film.
The only subjects that appealed to him were history and science. "History was cool and I did well because it was kind of like the movies. Science led to an interest in science fiction," he said. Michael became an Aviation technician which enabled him to
see the world and gave him ideas for his screenplays.
At age 7 Michael took his dad's super 8 camera and filmed scenes with the neighborhood friends, acting out parts from his favorite movies. Michael loathed school and chose to spend his time watching movies or reading comics rather than studying.
Michael developed his love for movies at an early age. One of his earliest memories is of his father taking him to see the movie Patton at a drive-in theater.
Michael Quintero was born on January 19, 1962, in New York City to immigrant parents and the middle of three siblings.
